Ethiopian Street Style

The definition of global street style is a narrow one, encompassing the body of work shot outside of fashion weeks in New York, Paris, Milan and London. It's gorgeous stuff, but is definitely more about the fashion world than the people living in those cities. I've been thinking a lot about this lately, so when Kyle LaMere of I Shoot Rock Stars told me he was going to Ethiopia to work for the Awassa Children’s Center and that he wanted to shoot some street style for me while he was there I was BEYOND thrilled. So without further a do here are the women of the capital city Addis Ababa, and a glimpse of what is truly global street style.

Take a look at more of Kyles work and pictures from Ethiopia on his website, also you can follow him on twitter @IshootRockStars.

  7. Wow,really amazing.Cropped jeans, ripped clothing, catch up shirts, big boots, weird hairstyle, dreadlocks, and Afros are a portion of the styles that are a piece of the new overpowering street fashion scene of Addis. The vicinity of a multi-billion dollar fashion industry is non-existent in Addis; its the streets of the city that give a stage to what fashion is here.Separated from the mainstream cultures of short hair, pants, suits and dresses,Addis streets give an option style. In the same way as other different urban communities on the planet, the urban community with a collective identity is impacted by the youth subculture. This subculture goes further than simply furnishes; it is a lifestyle that converges with music, style, and all the more keeping in mind the end goal to utilize it as a manifestation of expression.Thank you so much.~Ashley Howard.
