Vote for The Possessionista!

Dana Weiss is the woman behind The Possessionista, a fabulous blog that keeps us abreast of important topics like what labels Serena Vanderwoodsen is wearing and the sartorial choices of the cast of American Idol. Trash TV and fashion, you had me at hello.

Dana has been chosen as one of 5 fashion bloggers to compete in a who styled it best contest sponsered by T.J Maxx The challenge was to build a head to toe look around a cashmere cape called a ruana.  Go check out The Possessionista's photos online and vote for her look (she is so clearly the coolest). You'll be entered for a chance to win $500 from T.J's. Pretty sweet right?!

Here's Dana looking fly in her chosen outfit. The highlights are the floppy hat and double bracelets worn wonder woman style.

Sweet Chicago Boutique: Shrine Haberdashers

I recently stopped by Shrine Haberdashers where owner Rafik and his stylish associates were kind enough to pose out on the street in front of the shop for me. Shrine is "committed to making the world's finest and most obscure artisan-crafted men's accessories available to all" and they do just that. Go visit them in their space on 47 East Oak Street in the the Gold Coast. You won't be disappointed.
Erik wears a bowtie and sunglasses from Shrine Haberdashers.
Love the pop of color from these hot pink socks, avaialble at Shrine of course!
Lauren wears a coat and dress from Zara and her hat is from Shrine Haberdashers.
I'm in love with these Ferragamo Goat hair booties.

Chicago Street Style: Kortnee Quiza

Today I met my lovely friend Kortnee Quiza founder of 7th Market Agency at Barneys for an appearance by Alexandre Mattiussi of the newly launched line AMI. She's wearing a pair of fabulous Drapes by Ashley Scott.

Kortnee looks gorgeous here in her elegant cream blouse and red pants. This isn't the first or even second time I've taken street style shots of Kortnee, take a look at the photos I took of her on Elle.com and Refinery29

New York Fashion Week Photos Featured on Elle.com

My photos of  New York Fashion week are featured on Elle.com in a new slideshow along with the wildly talented Adam Katz Sinding of Le 21ème Arrondissement.

One of my favorite images in this particular slideshow is of blogger Cindy Ko of Cindiddy in a spectacular Stella McCartney Dress. Go check out all the other saucy babes on Elle.com

New York Fashion Week: Woman with the Feather Tattoo

This woman look's so beautiful with her big red top knot, red lips and burgundy shirt. Her necklace is from Urban Outfitters. Check out the similar very cool version by Laura Lombardi that you can also buy at Urban.
The best part of the outfit is seeing her feather tattoo through the sheer material of her blouse from American Apparel.

Chicago Street Style: Djalaal

Djalaal has everything that street style dreams are made of. As soon as I spotted her earlier this month I knew I had to take her photo for Très Awesome. That Turban and her color palette of burgundy, maroon and yellow is just too beautiful.

Djallal is also our look of the week over on Facebook. Come on over and check out her photo and while your there like us!

This Chicago street style was captured in Millennium Park.

New York Fashion Week: Marni Sunglasses and Worry Dolls

These Marni sunglasses are an unexpected pairing with the worry doll head band. I love the mix of grown up sophistication and girlish charm.
This couples color palette is just gorgeous. Also am loving this woman's silver Prada platform shoes.

New York Fashion Week: Lynn Dell

One of my favorite street style blogs around is Advanced Style by Ari Seth Cohen. I spotted one of his favorite muses, Lynn Dell at Lincoln Center last week during New York Fashion Week. She was  as glamorous and gracious in real life as the pictures I had seen on the website. Check out one of the other fabulous looks Lynn rocked at Fashion Week on Advanced Style.

New York Fashion Week: Susie Bubble

Susie Bubble is the woman behind the super successful fashion blog Style Bubble. The couple of times I saw her she was: A. Swarmed by street style photographers and B. Was bursting with energy and genuinely seemed like a joyful person.

As you can see the from these pictures and from her blog she favors riotous layers of color and pattern and gives new meaning to term personal style.

Kelly Osbourne of the Fashion Police

In honor of the Emmy Awards  red carpet I thought I'd post these photos of Kelly Osbourne of The Fashion Police on E! Here she is running into the Marchesa show at the Plaza Hotel during New York Fashion Week.
Kelly's updo looks so cool with the black fabric twist.

New York Fashion Week: Hanneli

Adorable Hanneli Mustaparta outside of the Donna Karan show at New York Fashion Week. She looks lovely here in orange with her Karen Walker sunglasses.  Hanneli is a former model turned street style photographer. Take a look at her site, her work is truly excellent.

New York Fashion Week: Mira Duma

Mira Duma is a former editor of Haarpers Bazaar Russia who now writes for a number of other Russian fashion publications, such as Glamour Russia and Tatler.  Now, can we talk about her outfit for a minute!? I love that she's wearing head-to- toe neon green, such a bold move, and it's working. Also those plastic apple earrigs are to-die-for. Check out two more of Mira's looks from New York Fashion Week on Garance Dore  and Guerreisms

New York Fashion Week: Drug Store Cowboy

I love this woman's glam 70s denim look. She looks too cool.

New York Fashion Week: Olivia Palermo

I caught Olivia Palermo as she was going in to the Marchesa Spring 2012 show at the Plaza hotel. She looks radiant as always in Marchesa (of course!)

There are so many wonderful things happening here. The light blue hair, the insano lego Chanel necklace, and leopard pants.  Pure Motherf**ing Magic.

Chicago Street Style: Austin

Austin is one of those impeccably dressed gents that I can't get enough of. He works at J Crew and is decked out in a blazer and shirt from the store. He is pictured here in the courtyard of the Elysian Spa and Hotel in the Gold Coast.

The oversized check pocket square is the perfect finishing touch to a perfect outfit. Good work Austin.

See more of Austin in Laundry Magazine's profile on me "A Day in the Life of Très Awesome"

New York Fashion Week: Joanne

Funnily enough, one of my favorite things about going to New York Fashion week was running into people from Chicago. I photographed Joanne last month outside the Glamorama last month. She looks stunning here in her yellow top and Ray Bans.

New York Fashion Week: Lincoln Center

I spotted this impossibly beautiful woman outside of Lincoln Center. I love the marroon of her lips and sunglasses paired with this bright red blazer.

New York Fashion Week: Candice Lake

Candice Lake looks lovely here in this neon bright floral dress outside the Marchesa show at the Plaza. She shoots street style photography for Vogue.com, Glamour UK and many others. Not only is Candice gorgeous, she has killer work. Take a look at her site and prepare to be impressed!

New York Fashion Week: Ming Xi

I snapped this photo of model Ming Xi outside the Marchesa show at the Plaza Hotel. I love her androgynous look here, much different than the soft feminine aura she exuded when she walked the runway in Marchesa.

New York Fashion Week 2011: Late For A Very Important Date

The home of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is ostensibly Lincoln Center, but the reality is that shows are held all over town, with designers showing off-site to cultivate a unique ambiance for their collections. The result is a haired daily schedule that has editors, buyers, and publicists running like mad in an attempt be in two places at once, like yesterday's race from the Thakoon Spring/Summer 2012 Show at The Plaza Hotel to Zac Posen at Lincoln Center.

New York Fashion Week 2011: Shannon Davenport

Shannon Davenport is one of the women behind the very cool jewelery line Fortune Favors The Brave. I love that they've used a bit of poetry from Virgil's Aenid, so highfalutin.
She's wearing one of her own pieces (of course) with a mix of vintage and top shop.

New York Fashion Week 2011: 24 Carrots Dahling

Ok, well actually only 2, but this carrot shirt is definitely golden.

New York Fashion Week 2011:Trop Rouge

New York fashion blogger Christina Caradona, the woman behind the site Trop Rouge.

Christina can also be seen on a new spate of K-Mart Style ads around the city which feature a bunch of different fashion bloggers, including Coco Perez. The campaign actually looks pretty cool, and Christina looks gorgeous, of course.

New York Fashion Week 2011: Karl Edwin Guerre

Yesterday I got to meet one of my favorite street style photographers, Karl Edwin Guerre.  The man behind the site Guerreisms and a contributor to Vogue Italia and many other fashion mags. He's shooting fashion week street style for Marie Claire this week. He was super sweet as I geeked out on his work and asked him to pose for a shot. Go check out the work on his site, he is a true talent.

North Coast Music Festival 2011

I attended the North Coast Music Festival at Union Park to take festival street style photos for AllSaints. North Coast is Summer's last hurrah, and the last music festival of the season here in Chicago. The crowd was younger and more interested in neon face paint and polyester fur boots than fashion per se, but as you can see from the following photos there were a number of dedicated followers of fashion in the mix.

Head to toe AllSaints doesn't look bad at all!

Kelli looks beautiful here with her amazing afro and crocheted dress from AllSaints See the photo I took of Kelli at the Pitchfork Music Festival on Elle.com

Kristen Kaza from the Chicago Reader

Tom Gavin of Gemini Club who performed at North Coast on Sunday.

See all the North Coast Music Festival street style I captured over on Facebook.
