The Devil's in the Details

Andrea Estrella from the radical band Twin Sister. Her cream cat eye sunglasses are a perfect match with the aqua blue wig. Check out Andrea's full ensemble in Très Awesome's Pitchfork street style slideshow on Elle.com

Why waste your time wearing a bracelet AND a ring when you can wear this fabulous chain combo by Jules Schwanbeck. Photographed on the designer. Check out her online store Shop Jules for more great jewelery and accessories.

These Lanvin shoes are to die for. I even love the little nick in them. What's the point of owning beautiful things if you're not going to wear them, right?! These shoes were purchased at Ikram in Chicago.

Chicago Street Style: Rachel

Rachel looks beautiful here. Her long string of pearls is my favorite part of this outfit.

This Chicago street style fashion was taken on Huron Street in the Gold Coast.

Blogger Spotlight: Isa Giallorenzo of Chicago Looks

Isa is the woman behind Chicago Looks, another great Chicago street style blog. Check out her latest post of a beautiful woman posing in front of mural of rays of sunshine at Oak Street Beach. Isa has incredible personal style and looks amazing every time I see her.  This is obviously no exception.
See Isa rock this boss white leather braided belt with a different outfit here.
These shoes are pretty spectacular. I love the big eyelets and width between the laces.

Chicago Street Style: Omar Villalobos

Omar is the director of Goca Designs, which is the fashion house of the very talented Gordana Rasic. Omar looks adorable here in his red bow tie and white cut off shirt.

Chicago Street Style: Dinner en Blanc

This Saturday I was walking down State Street when I happened upon a huge group of people all wearing elegant white clothing with chairs, tables, flowers, and china in tow. They were participating in a pop-up dinner event that initally started in Paris and was set to happen in a secret location in Chicago.
The pack was being led to meet up with a larger group at Daley Plaza by Anne Forman of the very cool blog El No Chicago.
Straight up white tie casual.
I love this white dress belted with the brown belt.
This couple looks so cute. I love how she's paired the different shades of white in her outfit.

San Francisco Street Style: Caroline

This photo of my dear friend Caroline was recently featured in a round up of San Francisco street style on Refinery29. I lover her red lipstick and Comme de Garcons clutch. Check out Ms. Caroline's super cute style and culture blog For Like Now

Super Cool British Online Retailer ASOS Visits Chicago

I recently attended a private viewing of ASOS Fall and Holiday lines I was primarily aware of the brand through my adventures in street style photography, shooting the occasional European on holiday in an ASOS top or belt. Turns out ASOS is Britain's largest online fashion retailer, with over 50,000 products. Visit the ASOS website, and marvel at the miles of affordable style.

It took a little convincing but I got Kevin Fegans, ASOS's international PR manager to come out for a little street style action. He looks brilliant here in this striped ASOS top and cool loafers.
It was only slightly more easy to get Austin Smedstad from STARWORKS GROUP to come out for some shots. I have no idea why, he looks amazing here in this casual but thoughtful outfit composed of you guessed it, all ASOS clothing.

Awesome arm party.

I LOVE these green boat shoes. Check them out on ASOS in navy.

Chicago Street Style: Aracely

Aracely's outfit is pretty much perfect. The standout features are the plaid mini-skirt with the brown belt. The boots and that awesome graphic bag. Nicely done lady.

Chicago Street Style: Kira (Again!)

Kira's incredible personal style has been featured on this site not once but twice before. See her other looks here and here.

Chicago Street Style: Kendra

I spotted this fabulous woman from across the street and immediately knew I had to capture her look. As I walked up to her I realized, hey I know this lady! I worked with Kendra at my very first job in Chicago as a designer for the photographer Brian Hall. How beautiful does she look here?! Kendra currently works at Agent Provocateur. Oooh la la.

Chicago Street Style: Stefania

I found Stefania at The Pitchfork Music Festival last month. She is wearing what may be the perfect summer festival outfit. This photo originally appeared in my festival street style round-up on Elle.com
Stefania's ornate henna tattoo is just exquisite.
This hair is too cool. A tough style to pull off, Stefania wears it well.

Chicago Street Style: Kelli

Kelli looks stunning in this AllSaints dress with her crazy curls. She works at the recently opened All Saints store here in Chicago on Michigan avenue. I fell in love with this dress when I took Kelli's photo  and AllSaints was nice enough to give me one exactly like it. Thanks AllSaints, you guys rule.

This Chicago Street style was captured outside the All Saints Pop Up Shop near Union Park.

Sky Ferreira

I bumped into Sky Ferreira at The Pitchfork Music Festival last month. Check out her entire street style look at Elle.com. Although only evidenced by the strap here, she's carrying a Proenza Schouler PS1 bag. When I asked her about what she was wearing she seemed genuinely embarrassed to tell me she was carrying such a fancy bag at a festival. Too cute.

Chicago Street Style: Mary Anne

Mary Anne is my lovely and dear friend. How cool does she look in this outfit?!  She's currently working on her PHD at the University of Washington in Seattle. You know that if she lived in town she would be all over the pages of Très Awesome.
This harmonica necklace sends me over the moon AND it really works. Get your very own at Fred Flare. Ok it's sold out there, but you can get one at Village Square and take it off the ugly beaded necklace and put it on a simple chain. Worth checking out this site for the squirrel playing the harmonica.

I love this rattan wide belt. It looks so beautiful with her full skirt and delicate lace shirt.

Vintage coach is the only way to go. I love her bracelets one of which our friend Alana brought back for us from Thailand. I'm wearing mine as I type this.

Chicago Street Style: Brielle Buchberg of Luxury Garage Sale

Brielle looks beautiful here in this mint green pleated long skirt and huge horn necklace.  She's one of the founder of Luxury Garage Sale, a high end consignment service and shop. I found her at Dose Market this weekend where she was selling all kinds of fabulous items, including a pair of Chanel chandelier  shamrock earrings (sounds crazy but they were super cool).

So many great accessories, so little time. I LOVE that huge tribal bracelet.

Blogger Spotlight: Andrea K of Blonde Bedhead

Andrea is the very talented photographer and fashionista behind the personal style blog Blonde Bedhead. I met her last week at an event fellow personal style bloggers See Jane and A Lovely Escape had at the shop Tangerine in Bucktown. I was able to convince Andrea to come out of the shop with me for a little street style action. I love this red patterned maxi dress she's wearing and that hair, zowee! Andrea not only looks fabulous, she has a delightful personality to match. We talked photography and she even gave me a few pointers. Check out this girl's site and camera skills. You're sure to be impressed.

Andrea is also our look of the week on Facebook. Take a peep, and while you're there like us!

Chicago Street Style: Sarah

Sarah looks lovely here in this mint green dress with her bright red purse and yellow belt. I also love the thin black bracelets she's wearing on each wrist.

Gerhard Richter and Sonia Rykiel

I took this photo at Macy's presentation of Glamorama "Artrageous" and in keeping with the theme this photo of a model in Sonia Rykiel (blurred beyond recognition, but moving none the less) reminds me of the work of my favorite painter Gerhard Richter.

NBC Chicago and The Feast feature Très Awesome at Lollapalooza 2011

I had the great honor of being profiled by Marcus Riley at NBC Chicago while I scouted street style on assignment for Elle.com at Lollapalooza 2011. Check it out...

They also posted some of my favorite Lollapalooza 2011 street styles. Have a look!

Marc Jacobs Collection at Glamorama 2011

Macy's Passport Presented Glamorama “Artrageous” last night at the Chicago Theater.  Benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities in providing families of sick children a warm and welcoming place to stay while their kids receive medical treatment. The musical highlight was Ceelo Green's great performance, which included his hit song Crazy. The fashion highlight was far and away the Fall Marc Jacobs Collection presentation.
The models walked in front of a projection of a Roy Lichtenstien print in keeping with the "Artrageous" theme. This worked beautifully with the polka dot motif in Marc's Fall collection.

I love the sumptuous brocade of this skirt paired with the gauzy bell sleeves.

This skirt is fabulous and insane. I wonder if it's heavy?

I love how the clasp on this bag is in harmony with the whole polka dot theme. Nice touch MJ.

The Devils in the Details: Lollapalooza 2011

The street style of Lollapalooza was chock full of fabulous bits and bleeps. This Olympia Le-Tan Clutch is like Wowza.
Jeffery Campbell boots remixed with harnesses from a different pair of JCs. Too cute.
Maybe it's because I'm a a street style fashion photographer, but there is no better accessory than a vintage camera in my book.
