Mary Krosnjar of the Sportsanista

I met Mary at the Von Z boutique opening party.  Her blog Sportsanista, is a combo platter of her two loves, sports and fashion called. Although from the look of it at the moment it's heavy on the fashion sauce. Her 20's inspired frock is from Zara and I'm about to run out and see if they still have it in stock (PS it is still available and it's on sale). Check out all the photos I took of the event on our facebook page.

Beach Hair - Wavefront Music Festival

The Wavefront Music Festival is this weekend! With an exciting lineup including three members of  LCD soundsystem playing seperate DJ gigs (James Murphy, Nancy Whang and Pat Mahoney). Will the surprise TBD guest playnig on the main stage Friday be an LCD reunion?!?!?!?!

However this would not be Très Awesome if we didn't ask the more pressing question which is WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH YOUR HAIR?!!

Here are some amazing options....

Luis Torres of Chic Overload

Luis Torres is the man behind Chic Overload. He's been featured on the blog before standing in front of one of Chicago's only Banksys. In this photo his kitty sweatshirt is the artistic masterpiece.  Also I feel like there must be some culture in which having money dangling around your junk is good luck ;)

These Adidas ObyO x Jeremy Scott Wings 'Rainbow Hologram' are just divine and happen to be on sale for a mere $125.

Sean Krista at Dose Market

I ran into Sean Krista founder of Shop Around Chicago at Dose Market a couple of weeks ago. She looks amazing here in this menswear inspired ensemble.

These Yohji Yamamoto Y-3 high top sneakers are super cool.

Elise Metzger - Emerging Thoughts Pop-Up

I caught up with my darling friend Elise last week at the very cool Emerging Thoughts Pop-Up at founder Lauren Katz's home. She is wearing a gorgeous kimono wrap from her mother who purportedly wore it exclusively for "disco dancing".

And here Elise is again, lounging in style and eating vodka soaked gummy bears. YUM.

Even though you missed out on the pop up you can buy many of the things that were at the event online at EmergingThoughts.com So what are you waiting for, clickety clack on over and buy yourself something wonderful.

Corri McFadden at Simply Stylist

This weekend I had the pleasure of attending Simply Stylist, a fashion and beauty event here in Chicago at the Dana Hotel. Corri McFadden, founder of the luxury consignment company E Drop-Off was on a panel along with Catt Sadler from E! News, Stacey Roney of Glossed and Found, and a number of other beauty and fashion luminaries.

Each woman told their story of how they came up in the industry and gave some insignt into their success. Even though I know Corri, and am generally aware of how she started E Drop-Off, the luxury consignment shop she started fresh out of college, hearing her story again on Sunday was SO inspirational. She is truly an amazing woman.

Corri is wearing Derek Lam Spring 2013 to an amazing effect. Take a look at the entire fantastic collection here.

Jessica Murnane - One Part Plant

Jessica Murnane is a woman of many, many talents. She's an incredible designer and founder of the stationary line Suitor, she has a rad blog called So, How Was Your Day, and if this wasn't enough her latest project, One Part Plant is a program she developed to spread the word about the benefits of a plant based diet.

One of the most delicious parts of One Part Plant is For Reals Meals. A monthly, plant-based brunch, hosted by different culinary folks around town. I was lucky enough to be invited by Eva Diabrl of the delightful blog Miss Renaissance, who gloriously happens to be a pastry chef.

She created a number of things, but my favorite was the interperation of a pound cake (pictured above.) Also if you can't see for yourself, Eva knows how to set a table!

One of the best parts of the afternoon was the company, along with hosts Eva Daiberl, I got to hang with the lovely Jamon Deaver, Jared Hatch, Jena Gambacini and Daniel Kelleghan and Allison Fraker.

I ate many of these Flax No Bake Energy Bites that you can whip up yourself thanks to the recipe on Miss Renaissance

Ok, so can we finally talk about this outfit?!?!?! Jessica looks amazing here with her  mega expert level pattern mixing. Also I'm loving this fabulous hat from Optimo. I have a similar one made of felt that I can't get enough of.

Also clickety clack on over and learn more about One Part Plant and all the cool things they are doing to the spread the word that a plant based diet is where it's at.
