Ashley Scott in Wicker Park

It was a gorgeous weekend here in Chicago and made even more dazzling when I  ran into the designer Ashley Scott of the accessory line Drapes. That hat! That braid! Ashley really brought it, but she always does. Take a look at a couple other photos I've taken of her on this site, here and here

DIY Leather Scalloped Shorts

I met this cool woman on the streets of Austin during SXSW. There are so many great things about this outfit like her love her over-sized aviators and nude lace long sleeve top. The coolest part though are her leather shorts, primarily because she made them herself! You too can do this. Just find yourself a pair of leather pants (thrift stores are full of them) and a pair of sharp scissors and cut scallops into the hem and voila, you've got yourself a super cool pair of shorts.

Bonnie Barton of Flashes of Style

Bonnie Barton is the woman behind the cool personal style blog Flashes of Style. I met her at a party at SXSW last month and snapped her photo for Elle.com. Go on over and check out her sweet photos from Coachella on her site.

Thai Tyler of LoveBomb Lacquer

Thai Tyler is the founder of LoveBomb Lacquer, a super cool line of nail polish based right here in Chicago.  I got the chance to catch up with her last weekend at the April 14th Dose Market where she was doing custom nail art and selling her wares.

Thai's bold mixed print ensemble looks incredible on her and that skirt is SO good.

Love the gold detailing on these ankle boots.

So many colors so little time :) You can order LoveBomb online or pick up a shade or two at the adorable shop Dovetail at 1452 W Chicago.

Prada Paillettes Scale Clutch

Paille-wha? According to Merriam Webster Paillettes are "a small shiny object (as a spangle) applied in clusters as a decorative trimming". While this accurately describes the bag, I say why not call a spade a spade, this is definitely Prada's fish scale moment. Whatever the proper name, I thought this mermaid inspired clutch was the perfect image to kick off what's supposed to be a VERY rainy week here in Chicago. Stay dry kiddos :)

Coachella Festival Style!

Music festival season is officially in full swing. The first weekend of Coachella 2013 has come to a close and although I didn't make it out to the desert this year I thought I would post some of the creme de la creme from last year.

Mad Men Premiere at Logan Theatre

Tonight we kicked off season six of Mad Men in style thanks to No Small Plans Productions amazing premiere party at the newly renovated and Logan Theater. Many cocktails were consumed  while listening to the sweet sounds of WeTheory and there was a special 60s inspired burlesque performance by Fly Honeys that involved cake and boobies. Also I would like to note, there is nothing more satisfying than watching Mad Men in a a retro movie theater, surrounded by people dressed to the nines while being served drinks by a waitress, truly magical.

Madewell Opens in Chicago

The day has finally arrived here in Chicago. Madewell has opened for business near at 932 Rush Street. So now you have absolutely no excuse not to have the perfect chambray shirt and the latest pair of Swedish Hasbeens ;) The store's grand opening was tonight and I was on hand with my camera capturing all the styley girls and boys going to the party.
