This weekend I attended the Movement Electronic Music Festival in Detroit. Mostly populated by kiddies wearing bad raver gear this woman stood out for her elegance and cool mix of prints.

Ashlee is a shop girl at Thread Lounge, the very cool designer sample sale boutique located on 918 W Armitage Ave.

Ashlee made this amazing necklace. I've never seen anything quite like it. All I know is that I want one.

Erin is a Chicago vintage dealer. She looks stunning here in shades of yellow and cream.

Chicago Street Style: Sean

I spotted Sean on Rush Street in the Gold Coast. She looks radical in this H&M necklace and ripped DIY T-shirt. I actually tried this necklace on several times, but decided not to buy it. Looking at this picture now, I'm kicking myself.

I love how her sea green eyeshadow relates to the hunter green tank. Uber cool.

Chicago Street Style: Kendall

I found Kendall walking with girlfriends on Michigan Avenue. This may be the perfect Spring outfit, ever.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these high waisted jeans.

Designer Spotlight: Drapes by Ashley Scott

Ashley Scott is the woman behind the accessories line Drapes. Her latest work "The Pivotal Collection" is a departure from her earlier military pomp and circumstance influenced work. Ashley's work has been featured in Haarpers Bazaar, Elle.com plus her amazing personal style has been captured on this site more than once.

Using raw materials and lots of tassels Scott achieves an organic elegance with her pieces that reminds me of a a beautiful and weird collection of photographs I saw the other day featuring old soviet era military monuments.

Ashley looks HOT here in these flared shorts, crop top and Drapes necklace and earrings. I absoloutely love her acid washed tote bag.

Ashley's friend Gabby was kind enough to model out in the street for us. Her Drapes Head Piece looks fierce with this outfit and I love the fact that she is wearing gold toe socks with these open-toed boots.

LA Street Style: Taylor and Kimberly

Last weekend I was out in LA on a shoot and couldn't resist pulling our account person Taylor Stat and Producer Kimberly Cyrille out onto the street for a little relaxed California Street Style shoot. They totally look like native California girls, right?!

The Winners of the Bill Cunningham New York Street Style Competition

The Chitown Fashionista and I had so many stylish guests at our Bill Cunningham New York Cocktail Reception at Tula Boutique this past Friday that it was incredibly difficult to decide who the ultimate winners were. However, after much debate we are proud to announce that Jovon M. Smith and Gordana Gogiloo Rasic are the winners! Take a look at everyone's street style on Facebook.

Scott Thomas of Simple Honest Work

Scott Thomas is the principal of Simple Honest Work and the design director for the 2008 Obama Presidential Campaign. I stopped by their Headquarters in the West Loop and convinced Scott to come out in the street for a little street style photo. He was nursing a cold at the time so brought his tea with him.

Heading into the 2012 election run they're looking for designers, developers, film/video, writers, and other digital people to work in Chicago. Bill Cunningham New York Premieres at The Music Box Theatre

Private Screening of Bill Cunningham New York

Before the Sartoriliast there was Bill Cunningham, the original street style photographer. Bill has been documenting the fashionable, weird and creative people of New York city for the past 50 years.

Last night a select group of people were invited to the W Hotel in Chicago for a screening of the documentary Bill Cunningham New York with a special Q&A with director Richard Press and producer Philip Gefter. As a street style photographer it was a doubly exciting to get a chance to see the film in the luxurious lounge enviroment of the W and hear the film makers discuss their work, Bill Cunningham, and New York style.

Laundry Magazine Growing Works Fashion Show

Last night Laundry magazine and a group of extraordinarily talented designers took over Garfield Park Conservatory to stage one of the best shows I've ever been to.  If that wasn't good enough, proceeds from ticket sales went to benefit Flashes of Hope, a really cool organization that changes the way children with cancer see themselves through the gift of photography. The fabulous models  from Agency Galatea rocked the runway in shoes provided by Akira.

Stephanie Woods designed this spectacular multi-tiered confection. I envision myself accepting my first Oscar in this dress.

Christina Yi's clothes use strong Asian pattern and detailing to create bold sumptuous clothes. Take a look at the images I took of her last runway show at Lumen.

Ignacio Maldonaldo's structural garments looked beautiful strutting down the runway.

Ryan Pickle makes women look hot, romantic and COOL all at the same time. His work was among the strongest looks of the eventing. I really want both of these dresses.

Kelsey Kreiling not only organized this entire event, she also somehow managed to design and make these GORGEOUS dresses. Her work is elegant, has a cohesive vision, and uses interesting and disparate materials in perfect harmony.

I love Ashley Totka's use of over-the-top beading on these gowns. It just goes to show that there is no such thing as too many sequins.

Birgitte Norsen makes fancy look casual and very wearable in this gorgeous dress on the left. Katie DiFiore rocker aesthetic is on display in the detailing and raucous mixture of materials in this dress on the left.

French Pop Sensation Yelle at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago

I walked into work last Friday and was BEYOND thrilled to see a poster announcing Yelle was playing  in Leo Burnett's Artist in Residence program, where different musicians come to the agency to showcase their latest work. I got to meet Yelle before the mini concert they played at my office, she was adorable and so down to earth with her cute french accent. They gave me tickets to come take photos at the show they played at The Bottom Lounge that night.

The show started out with Yelle in a crazy fringed get-up that covered her entire body which was designed by Jean-Paul Lespagnard. Her band mates were wearing amazing neo-safari outfits by Lespagnard as well.

Yelle frees herself from her fringe suit and rocks out. I can't wait to see them again the next time they come to Chicago!
